Tom:
G F When I take the road, very early in the morning,
C G I have the route drawn. clear and meticulously
G F After a long time, running fast on two wheels
C Under sun and rain
G it emerges on landscape
F C G It rises sovereign in the firmament
F C G It seems to want to welcome me like a son
F C G I do not know where it starts, or where it ends
F C D It knows I'm here to admire it.
G F For God, all my reverence,
C G All my prayer for the Rocky Mountains,
G F I thank God for its grandeur,
C G And its nature, the Rocky Mountains
G F I have eyes to gloat and see,
C G In ecstasy, The Rocky Mountains
G F My soul rejoices how the green
C G it is seen on The rocky Mountains
G F I am open-mouthed for that amazing enormity.
C G So Wonderful place Blessed by God
F I will tell my children and grandchildren
C I had been here
G I always I will be back
F C G Since it emerged with the Laramide Orogeny
F C G Time and nature carved it masterfully
F C G Long ago, it was a huge ocean
F C D Full of exotic fishes and ammonites
